Job Description
Excellent opportunity for a career-oriented Sales Leader in the building materials industry! As a result of rapid growth, our client is looking for upwardly mobile talent. Reporting to the VP of Sales, the Sales General Manager will lead sales activities and manage the P&L for the division. Must currently live within commuting distance, and be willing to relocate within the company at a later date.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the sales team
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and providing solutions to problems
Develops and implements strategic sales plans
Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals
Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals
Assigns sales territory to sales representatives, coaching them in their activities and results
Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales
Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product
Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals
Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements
Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition
Recommends or approves budget, expenditures, appropriations for research and development work
QUALIFICATIONS
Four Year College Degree or equivalent in education and experience
At least 4 years of successful sales experience demonstrating measured sales success
At lease 4 years experience leading a sales team and managing a P&L in the building materials industry
Ability to analyze and interpret financial reports and other relevant company and industry data to plan, solve problems and achieve objectives
Effective writing and oral communication skills
Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges and to lead and direct
Excellent organizational skills
Computer skills require MS Office
